Having been in and out of the network marketing industry for over 34 years and failing each time I tried to succeed, I did not have fun. But, that all changed when I began learning “skills”. Once I learned some simple “skills”, I noticed that I was having fun, for the first time, in my network marketing business.
The first skill that I learned was knowing what to say and what to do with new prospects. When a prospect downloads my e-book from my capture page, I telephone the prospect to inform him/her that we have an audio version of the e-book that contains a new Chapter 11 that he/she will not find in the written work plus 8 recorded “skills” calls that complement the e-book. I, then, ask the prospect, “Now then, given your schedule, how long do you think it will take you to finish the e-book and the 8 recorded “skills” calls, because I want to speak with you again after you have finished to answer all of your questions”? I, then, schedule a follow-up call with the prospect to answer his/her questions. At the follow-up call, after I have answered all of the prospect’s questions, I ask the prospect, “Now then, which would you prefer, for me to show you how you can use the Mentoring For Free marketing system to build the company that you now promote or would you prefer for me to show you the “5 Pillars” company that I have found?
For offline prospects, I learned a simple skill from Tom “Big Al” Schrieter called “The One Minute Business Presentation”. It goes like this: “For you to earn an extra $1,000.00 per month, you have to be able to do these 3 things: (1) Don’t change. Keep recommending and promoting things like you always have, like your favorite movies, restaurants, and things to do on weekends. Afterall, all network marketing is about is recommending and promoting things we like to other people. (2) I am in the nutrition business. The company that I promote has affordable life-changing products that help people feel better and, thus, live better. Sometime in your lifetime, you have to find 4 people who feel the same way that you do about the business. They either want to make a full-time income or a really good part-time income. And, you don’t have to find all 4 people at once. Pace yourself. Find 1 a month, 1 a year, or 1 a decade. And, (3) between everyone who you talk to and everyone who they talk to and everyone who they talk to forever and ever and ever, you eventually accumulate about 50 people who use the nutritional products on a regular basis and you would earn between $1,000.00 to $1,500.00 per month. And, that’s it. What do you think”?
After I learned these online and offline “skills”, I then began teaching them to my business partners so that they could experience success also. When a new business partner joins me, I show him/her how to effectively advertise online to get prospects to download the e-book from my partner’s website. I, then, telephone each prospect with my partner on the phone with me so that my partner may experience what I say to prospects. I tell me partners that I will make telephone calls for him/her until the day comes when my partner no longer needs my help and can do the business without my help.
The main reason that I did not have fun in the network marketing industry for my first 34 years was because no one had taught me successful “skills”. However, once I learned the simple “skills” of knowing what to say and what to do both online and offline and began experiencing rejection-free success, I began becoming self-confident in my business-building abilities. Once I became self-confident, I began having fun with my network marketing business.
The Number One reason that people quit a network marketing company is because of the rejection they endure when they try to build a business with no “skills”. I eliminate this reason for failure by helping people to succeed in the network marketing industry by teaching people the “skills” they need to succeed. Once someone learns some simple “skills” and begins to apply them, he/she begins to experience success. And, once someone starts experiencing success with his/her network marketing business, then he/she will start to have fun with his/her business.
